Okuneye Idris, also known as Bobrisky, is a controversial crossdresser who is presently being held at the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Alagbon, Lagos State. He spent the night in a cell at the police station.
According to a source who told our correspondent about the development, Okuneye was taken to the FCID for safekeeping after being arrested by Nigeria Immigration Service officials while attempting to leave the country through the Seme border. The source also stated that additional directives regarding Okuneye’s case were still pending.
“Bobrisky was taken to the FCID, Alagbon, at approximately 10 p.m. on Monday,” the source stated. At the Seme Border, Immigration detained him and took him into custody.
He is now being held at the FCID, Alagbon. He was transferred to the FCID, Alagbon, at around 10 p.m. on Monday after being apprehended on Sunday and held overnight. At the FCID, he remains.
In an interview with our correspondent on Tuesday, Mayegun Aminat, the spokesman for FCID, Lagos, confirmed Okuneye’s detention, saying, “He is detained at FCID Alagbon.” We are gonna obtain a remand to hold him in custody today, and he is with us.
Kenneth Udo, the NIS spokesperson, described Okuneye as a person of interest over recent issues of public concern in a statement released Monday evening.
Nigeria Immigration Service stopped Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border during an attempt to leave the country as part of its commitment to border security.
“He is being questioned and will be turned over to the proper authorities for additional action.” In carrying out its statutory duty of guarding the nation’s borders, the Service promises the public that it will remain kind and professional,” Udo stated.
