The UK’s Immigration Salary List (ISL) for 2025 has been made public, taking the place of the Shortage Occupation List. This big change is meant to bring in workers with high salaries who can help the UK economy.
The ISL lists 23 jobs, with starting salaries ranging from £28,100 to £53,900. These jobs include biological sciences, graphic design, air traffic control, stonemasonry, and shipbuilding. Biological scientists make £38,000 to £70,000 a year, nuclear industry chemical scientists make £35,200 to £80,000 a year, archaeologists make £36,400 to £60,000 a year, graphic and multimedia designers make £30,960 to £50,000 a year, bricklayers make £30,960 to £45,000 a year, and farmers make £28,100 to £40,000 a year.
Applicants must have a Skilled Worker visa, which lets them live and work in the UK with the possibility of staying there permanently. People looking for jobs can use online job boards, government websites, and staffing firms to find good positions.
The ISL promotes a skill-based economy and offers fair wages to make sure that skilled foreign workers can make good money. “The ISL opens new doors for those whose skills match our economic and social growth goals,” the UK Home Office said. We want to bring the smartest people to the UK so that they can bring new ideas and energy.
This change in the UK’s immigration policy puts the skill-driven economy first and gives workers chances to do well in the country’s diverse job market.
The ISL has had a positive effect on the UK economy by boosting growth, creativity, and competitiveness. Workers from other countries can get good pay, the chance to move up in their careers, and the chance to settle down permanently.
There are opportunities that are specific to the healthcare, technology, and creative areas. There are job openings in London, Manchester, and Birmingham for people in the region.
