Kano State Magistrate Court 82 has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, Kabiru Ado for failure to attend its sitting despite receiving Court Criminal Sermon and Complaints by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission on Crminal breach of Trust and making false statement.
The Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission had on Saturday summoned the Council boss over alleged abuse of palliative materials meant for the poorest of the poor in Kano State.
Prior to the allegation, the Kano chapter of the Association of Local Governments in Nigeria (ALGON) withdrew from the distribution of the palliative materials sourced through the state fundraising committee and shared to residents in a bid to ease the pain of the lockdown imposed by the government.
The case has been adjourned to 27th of May, 2020
