Custom Officer Slaps Governor Okowa’s Aide, Samson Nwachukwu

A Special Assistant on Special Duties to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Samson Nwachukwu, has been molested by a customs officer.

According to a viral video on social media, the yet-to-be-identified custom was seen landing a heavy slap on the human rights activist following an argument.

Surprisingly, Samson who appeared well angered in the tape did not retaliate or respond to the officer after the abuse.

While the cause of the argument is yet unknown, many have condemned the act by the customs officer, including the Behind Bars Human Rights Foundation led by popular activist, Harrison Gwaminishu.

According to the Behind Bars DG, the issue would not be overlooked until the officers involved in the act are brought to book.

“I wish to express my displeasure at the physical assault meted on one of our own, the Director of intelligence/intervention, Behind Bars Human Rights Foundation, and Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Mr. Samson Nwachukwu by some customs officers under the instructions of a rogue army officer. What a bummer!

“This sad event occurred along Benin/Agbor Expressway on the 7th of May, 2022 on his way to carry out his activities of daily living.

“It’s no surprise that he did not retaliate the slap on his face like a well-groomed Nigerian under the siege of our foundation, Behind Bars Human Rights.

“I suppose this has happened to so many other citizens who are more or less helpless in such situations.

“We will not handle this abuse on our own with kid’s gloves as we request that the officers are fished out and arrested as we go through due process to ensure justice is served accordingly and offenders brought to book,” he said.
