Samson Dauda, a Nigerian, won the coveted 2024 Mr. Olympia bodybuilding title, earning the biggest sum in the history of the sport.
The 2024 Olympia weekend’s grand finale was held in the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States.
After advancing from the pre-judging round, fifteen top athletes competed for the final title on the main stage.
Currently residing in the United Kingdom, Dauda, a Nigerian bodybuilder, won the competition. Hadi Choopan finished second, and 2023 champion Derek Lunsford dropped to third.
Apart from being declared the People’s Champion, Dauda also received a record-breaking $600,000 reward, the highest amount ever given out in a bodybuilding competition.
Before moving to Hollywood, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, a legendary figure in bodybuilding, dominated the Mr. Olympia stage, capturing six straight titles between 1970 and 1975.
Schwarzenegger’s status in the sport was further cemented in 1980 when he made a triumphant return and won his seventh and final title.
