Ebelechukwu Obiano, the wife of the former governor of Anambra, has formally tendered an apology to the new governor of the state, Charles Soludo, over the slapping incident which involved herself and the delectable Bianca Ojukwu, who gave her what looked like a farewell slap.
We recall that the beauty queen and wife of the late Biafran Warlord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, was at Professor Soludo’s inauguration at the State House in Awka last Thursday when the latter sent her away with an unforgettable slap of the decade.
According to the reports, Obiano’s wife apologized to the Governor of the state, Professor Soludo, whom she did not respect being inaugurated, and other dignitaries present, saying that there was no justification for the public embarrassment that occurred on the day, a situation that could have been handled better but was not because she was heavily drunk.
“Those who know me can testify that before and throughout my eight years as the First Lady of State, I pursued peace, promoted philanthropic gestures which empowered many of our less privileged people. No excuse can therefore be tenable as justification for such public embarrassment, no matter the height of provocation.
Equally, I wish to extend the same apology to all the important dignitaries, the people of Anambra State, as well as the entire Ndigbo for that unintended embarrassment at the occasion.”
