Edo election drama continues as the Edo state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP announces that the membership card of the Governor of the state is now available and ready for collection.
Chief Tony Azegbemi, while speaking to reporters at Daily Trust on Wednesday, 17 June made this known. He announced that the Governor, who was disqualified from the APC primaries ahead of the governorship election in the state has registered with the party, and his membership card is now ready for collection.
He, however, said the Governor is currently in Abuja for some functions and will pick the membership card once he returns to Edo state from the Federal Capital Territory.
Chief Tony Azegbemi expresses the party’s excitement about the Governor deciding to Join the PDP in the state, saying “At the moment, Obaseki is in Abuja, but when he returns to Benin, his card is ready. He has already registered with our party in his ward, and we are excited that he is joining our party”
The governor has, however, not made a formal declaration on joining a new political party.
