Fire Razes Residential Building In Kwara

A residential building was razed by fire on Monday, Dec. 13, leading to loss of properties.

A residential building situated at Amoyo town, near Ilorin, Kwara State capital was on Monday razed by fire.

The incident occurred at Gaa Duroyi Akewusola, Amoyo Area, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, at about 19:29hrs.

The affected building comprised seven flats, all completely razed by the blazing inferno due to the late arrival of the state fire brigade.

It gathered that an electric power surge caused the fire.

The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, urged the general public to always call the fire brigade on time whenever there is fire incident in their neighbourhoods.

He also advised residents never to play with anything concerning electricity in the event of any fire disaster. This is according to a statement by the spokesman of the state fire brigade, Hassan Adekunle, in Ilorin on Monday.
