Reports said that FirstBank was upgrading its systems, but the company said that the notice about switching to a new cloud-based platform was only for suppliers and not for customers.
The bank said in a statement on Friday that a message sent to vendors was misunderstood and reported wrongly.
It said the message was about moving from the current I-Supplier Platform to a new Cloud-based Supplier Platform that would give vendors more benefits and abilities.
“The message that was misunderstood and reported was sent to and only meant for our vendors. It was about switching from our current I-Supplier Platform (an automated platform that connects us to suppliers) to a new Cloud-based Supplier Platform (a world-class platform for managing suppliers) so that our vendors could get more features and benefits.”
“Please be aware that there is no system upgrade happening at this time, and all of our customer applications are fully functional.”
“Our services are not being interrupted, and the improved supplier platform will not have any effect on our banking systems, customer transactions, channels, etc.,” the statement said.
The bank told users that it was committed to providing smooth services.
