Gunmen Swear To Kill More Lawmakers In Anambra State

Unknown gunmen have announced to kill more lawmakers in Anambra State.

This comes after the killing of and beheading of Hon. Okechukwu Okoye, a lawmaker who represented Aguata II constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Recall that Okoye was kidnapped in  Aguata on May 15, but his head was found in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state, on Saturday, May 21.

An eyewitness told the reports that a note was dropped beside the head of Okoye which was dumped by the roadside.

The source said, “In the note, the killers vowed that more heads would roll. The letter was not too clear due to raindrops, but it started with the word “warning”. At some point, it read, ‘everywhere you go, you cannot hide anywhere. We will go after you one by one because soldiers and police are (sic) no longer our problem.”

Governor of Anambra state Charles Soludo has announced an N10M reward for anyone that has valuable information to lead to the immediate arrest of the killer of Hon. Okechukwu Okoye’s death.
