Mr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, an ex- Governorship Aspirant and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has reportedly resigned from the party.
Mr. Jamilu tendered his resignation letter to the Jekadafari Ward Chairman of APC on Tuesday, stating that his decision is after wide consultation with his family, political associates, and supporters.
Although he did not state reasons for dumping the party, his supporters alleged that APC leadership in the state has taken side with the incumbent Governor of Gombe State, Mr. Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya.
However, the former APC chieftain is yet to join any other party.A close supporter said that the current endorsement of Governor Yahaya for second term by some local government areas has shown that the party would not provide fair playing ground for all governorship aspirants in the next primary elections.
