On Monday, Honorable Francis Okiye, Edo Assembly Speaker was impeached by nine out of ten members who sat during the plenary of the House.

According to reports, the members stated that his impeachment followed due to a couple of allegations which include high-handedness.

The lawmakers thereafter elected Hon Marcus Onobhu and the new Speaker of the Assembly.
