In Nigeria, A Fuel Truck Explosion Killed At Least 94

According to the reports, a derailed tanker in northern Nigeria exploded close to residents who had congregated to scavenge fuel, killing at least 94 people.

The explosion in Majiya, a village in Jigawa state, occurred late Tuesday evening local time, and the death toll is anticipated to increase.

According to Shiisu Lawan Adam, a spokesman for Jigawa police, “the driver lost control and the tanker somersaulted and spilled fuel into a drainage ditch.”

Residents hurried to collect the fuel when the explosion occurred as a result.

Adam stated that the death toll was preliminary and that at least 50 individuals had suffered significant injuries.
