On Tuesday, March 7, a Catholic church priest identified as Reverend Fr. Joseph Akekec, was kidnapped by gunmen.
The incident reportedly happened in the Kudendan community, in Kaduna State.
According to a resident of the community who simply identified himself as Samson, the kidnappers killed two security guards before gaining access to the Reverend Father’s house. A woman and her two children were also kidnapped.
He said “We couldn’t sleep last night due to tension and gunshots. The Reverend father of Kudenda Catholic church was abducted. His guard was killed. Another man too in the community was killed while a woman and her two children were abducted”.
Police spokesman, ASP Jalige Mohammed, said he would find out the details before commenting.
