Moses, A Former Chelsea Wing-Back, Joins Luton

The 33-year-old former international for Nigeria signs a free agency contract with the Championship club after leaving Russian team Spartak Moscow earlier in the summer.

When he first joined Spartak on loan from Chelsea in 2020, he stayed there for almost four years.

Moses played for Luton in a behind-closed doors game last week. Moses began his professional career with Crystal Palace before switching to Wigan Athletic when they were in the Premier League in 2010.

“He is tactically aware because he has played for so many different clubs in a variety of formats and under a variety of managers.”

Moses played for Chelsea and won the FA Cup, Premier League, and Europa League. However, his nine years at Stamford Bridge were punctuated by multiple loan periods, including times at Liverpool, West Ham, Fenerbahce in Turkey, and Inter Milan in Italy.

Moses remarked, “I had some offers from Europe, but I told my agent that I was determined to stay over here, and here we are.”

“I want to come here and play football, work hard for the team and the club, and help us return to the Premier League where we belong.”

Moses joins Luton, a team that finished last season in the Premier League and is currently second from bottom in the Championship. The team has not won since.

Rob Edwards, the manager of Luton, stated on the club website, “We think he’s someone who can provide some really good competition for us.” external

After being demoted from the Premier League in May, Luton has only collected one point from their four Championship games this year.
