On Wednesday, José Mourinho’s team was eliminated from the Turkish Cup final stage when Galatasaray defeated Fenerbahce 2-1 thanks to a spectacular performance from Victor Osimhen, who scored a brace.
With a superb effort from the edge of the box in the tenth minute, Osimhen gave Galatasaray the lead.
Before halftime, his club had a comfortable 2-0 lead thanks to a penalty kick from the Nigerian striker in the 27th minute, which doubled his total.
Sebastian Szymański gave Fenerbahce a goal in first-half stoppage time (45+1′) right before halftime, but it was insufficient to reverse the trend.
Galatasaray held on for the victory despite late attempts by Mourinho’s team to tie the score, including substitutions involving Mert Yandaş and Kerem Demirbay in the 90+2 minute.
