A student of Government Science school Andaha, near Akwanga named Anita Haledu Ibrahim aged 14 has allegedly committed suicide over an unwanted pregnancy.
It was gathered that she got pregnant for her boyfriend whom she met in Andaha during the COVID-19 lockdown, who was introduced to her by her closest friend in the school.
The boyfriend who upon hearing about her pregnancy, snuck out of the village but her parents made efforts to reach him. Upon reaching him on phone he accepted the pregnancy.
However, the young girl took her life after her father found out and beat her. It was reported she took the herbicide on Saturday but later died on Tuesday.
