As the controversy surrounding social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, continues to build, Nigerian radio personality Chinedu Emmanuel, commonly known as Nedu Wazobia, has resigned from The Honest Bunch Podcast.
Deeone, a reality star who featured on the Honest Bunch Podcast, claimed that Verydarkman was attracted to guys, which sparked the debate.
But rather than immediately answering the allegation, Verydarkman turned his attention to Nedu, disclosing private exchanges and leveling accusations against the ladies Nedu was allegedly seeing.
Nedu announced his decision to leave the podcast on Instagram on Friday, as the issue grew worse.
He mentioned the necessity to safeguard his family, his mental health, and the show’s integrity.
Nedu admitted in his formal statement that the amount of criticism, hostility, and accusations had taken a personal toll on him, but he was thankful for the experience and influence of The Honest Bunch Podcast.
He emphasized that although he is still committed to promoting meaningful dialogue, taking a backseat was required to put an end to the negative connotations associated with his name.
“The past week has helped me put a lot of things into perspective,” he wrote. It has been an amazing experience to host The Honest Bunch Podcast—one based on candid discussions, audacious viewpoints, and a readiness to take on challenging subjects.
However, that duty has also brought with it a great deal of scrutiny, hostility, and baseless accusations, all of which have started to negatively impact the individual.
“I have made the tough decision to leave the podcast in light of recent developments. I don’t make this decision lightly, but I think it’s essential for my family’s sake, my own mental health, and the show’s integrity.
“I have always been dedicated to having open discussions, but when those discussions turn into constant attacks and deception, it’s obvious that taking a step back is the wisest course of action.
“I genuinely hope that this decision ends the negative connotations associated with my name and permits The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue to flourish.” I’m still dedicated to promoting discourse in methods that promote deep involvement and development, and I eagerly await new chances that support that goal.
“I want to thank everyone who has helped me along the way and wish the show continued success.”
Nedu, Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne are the four main hosts of The Honest Bunch Podcast, a chat show that was founded by Glitch Africa in 2022.
