The Association of Local Government Chairmen in Ogun State has apologized to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the recent comments of their member, Mr. Wale Adedayo.
Adedayo had alleged that the governor diverted the statutory Federal Allocation meant for the state’s Local Governments over the past two years.
On Tuesday, members of ALGON, led by Emilola Gazal, the chairman of Ijebu-Ode LGA, met with Governor Abiodun at his office in Oke-Mosan to express their regrets and offer their apologies.
In the video shared on Facebook, Gazal, along with other members, appealed for forgiveness and was seen prostrating and begging the governor.
Gazal said, “We have come here to beg you as a father that you are, as the father of all in this place, your Excellency, please forgive us.
“Your Excellency sir, if you don’t forgive us, who would we go and meet. On behalf of all of us, I am tendering this apology and in particular, on behalf of Wale Adedayo, Your Excellency forgive us.”
Responding, Abiodun said, “God knows that this job I am doing it with every iota of sincerity of purpose in me. I will continue to ensure that I am guided by all the promises that I made in the course of my journey to the Governor’s office.”
