Ota Court In Ogun Jails Brothers For Stealing Ceiling Fans From Mosque

Two brothers, Anu, 20, and Tayo Akinsanya,18, have been jailed by Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Monday to three months imprisonment each for stealing two celling fans from a Mosque worth N44,000.

According to Inspector E.O. Adaraloye, the prosecution counsel, the convicts committed the offence on March 17 at about 11.30 pm at Iwoye town in Ota.

He also claimed that the convicts had broken into the Iwoye Central Mosque and stolen two ceiling fans worth N44, 000.

He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 390(9), 451, and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

Magistrate A. O. Adeyemi observed that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubts, and found the duo guilty of the charge preferred against them.

Although their addresses were not provided but they were charged with theft and burglary.

Delivering his ruling, Adeyemi sentenced the two brothers to three months imprisonment each without an option of fine.
