Over bribery charges, representatives invite VeryDarkMan Bobrisky, the chairman of the EFCC.

Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan, the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Chairman of the EFCC, and all the officers involved in Bobrisky’s prosecution have all been summoned by the House of Representatives.

This was stated in a letter to the parties on Friday regarding the alarming accusations of corruption against the Nigeria Correctional Services and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) by Lead Chairman of the Joint Committee Jon Ginger Onwusibe.

The Controller of Corrections Lagos Command at the time, ACG Ben Rabbi Freedman, Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary Board, Michael Anugwa, DCC in charge of medium security, Sikiru Adekunle, DCC in charge of maximum security, Bobrisky, and VeryDarkman are among the others invited.

Bobrisky was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in April on six counts of mutilating Naira and money laundering.

Judge Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos dropped the social media star’s money laundering accusations (counts five and six) during his trial, but he did sentence him to six months in prison for abusing Naira.

But just over a month after his release, Bobrisky’s story was revealed in an audio recording that was leaked and shared on Instagram by Martins Otse, better known online as VeryDarkMan.

Bobrisky can be heard talking with a buddy on the recording about how EFCC agents allegedly threatened to withhold N15 million from him in exchange for dropping the money laundering allegations.

After Bobrisky refused to return N4 million that he had borrowed from one of the people he approached to raise the N15 million, VeryDarkMan revealed why he had leaked the tape.

In a statement this publication was able to get, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede ordered an immediate inquiry into the bribery claims on Tuesday night.

In order to help with the investigation, Mr. Olukoyede also demanded that Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan come to the EFCC’s Lagos office.

Furthermore, as reported, Bobrisky’s allegation that he bought off prison guards to escape being imprisoned during his sentence is now the subject of a separate inquiry by the Ministry of Interior.
