Peter Obi Resigns From PDP, Withdraws From presidential Race

Peter Obi, ex-governor and presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has resigned from the party.

According to his resignation letter dated May 24 and addressed to the party chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, Obi did not state specifically why he is leaving the main opposition party.

Peter Obi is one of 15 aspirants vying for the presidential ticket of the PDP. He has often complained about how other aspirants are using dollars to buy delegates who will determine who emerges as PDP presidential candidate.
