On Sunday evening, at about 6:30pm, at Nkwere junction, near Onitsha, on Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, a petrol tanker and a bus collided leaving many persons dead.
Andrew Kumapayi, the Anambra State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, confirming the incident said:
“A fatal crash involving a bus belonging to CDO transport company occurred this evening, at Nkwere junction, along Onitsha-Awka expressway.
“FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit has been mobilised to be at the scene.”
As at the filing of this report, the number of casualties was yet to be ascertained.
