Reasons Why You Don’t Have A Flat Stomach

We all want that flat tummy and toned abs, don’t we? But we all cannot get it. Why?

Sometimes, despite the fact that you’ve hit the gym center hard and have been doing all the correct things, it might appear like your stomach is simply not in accordance with the effort you’re putting in.
Interestingly, there might be some covered-up and more subtle reasons why you can’t get a flat stomach.

1. Genetics

When it comes to achieving a flat tummy, genetics can either be your best friend or your worst enemy.

Each of us has a unique genetic makeup that influences our body’s tendencies. Some individuals naturally carry more fat in the abdominal area which is not due to excessive eating.

While you can’t change your genetic makeup, you can still make progress by starting a fitness journey as mentioned above.

Combine that with a healthy lifestyle and each small step you take would bring you closer to your goal.

2. You’re eating too much sugar

A high-sugar diet can cause belly fat to stick fast even if you’re restricting calories and trying to lose weight. To make a serious impact on your belly fat, cutting out sugar spikes is key.

Limit your intake of any food or drink containing more than five percent sugar to no more than twice a week. This includes sweet fruits such as mango and pineapple and sugary smoothies and juices.

3. Alcohol

You can never have a flat tummy if you binge on alcohol. Here’s the deal: when you consume alcohol, it releases estrogen into your bloodstream. Excess estrogen can lead to weight retention.

If you’re looking to take a step closer to achieving that flat tummy, it’s time to reconsider your relationship with alcohol. Now, we’re not saying you have to give it up completely, but moderation is key.

4. You’re a new mother

First things first, never put pressure on yourself to spring back to your pre-baby body, and definitely don’t rush things. If you’re a new mum then losing weight from around the tummy can be very hard – hormones take time to settle down and stretched muscles won’t knit back together instantly after pregnancy. It will take time, so give yourself as long as it takes.

5. You’re not lifting weights

While bodyweight resistance training is highly effective, pumping a little iron pays dividends when it comes to blasting belly fat.

A few weight training sessions a week will set you on a path to a speedier metabolism. the more fat you torch, and the benefits continue after you’ve left the gym too, as your resting metabolic rate improves, meaning that you burn more calories throughout the day.
