Report: Christopher Nkunku Of Chelsea And Bayern Munich Have Reached A Personal Agreement.

Is Mathys Tel’s time with Bayern Munich coming to an end?

That seemed ridiculous only a year ago, but the young Frenchman may be on the move now that his progress has been halted by a lack of opportunities.

However, that is only the second most bizarre thing going on right now. Christopher Nkunku, an attacker for Chelsea FC who established himself in the Bundesliga at RB Leipzig, may soon be acquired by Bayern Munich.

According to Florian Plettenberg, a journalist for Sky Sport, Bayern Munich has already reached a personal agreement with Nkunku and is prioritizing him this month (as reported by @iMiaSanMia):

Christopher Nkunku and Bayern have reached a personal agreement, and Bayern hopes to sign him long-term. Nkunku is Bayern’s primary transfer target this month, regardless of Mathys Tel. Tel’s inclusion in the agreement is merely a suggestion to facilitate the transfer. The clubs are still negotiating with one another.

Kerry Hau, Plettenberg’s Sky Sport colleague, claims that the Tel and Nkunku incidents are connected (as seen by @iMiaSanMia). It will be challenging for the Bavarians to acquire Nkunku this month if Tel declines a move to Chelsea:

Permanent agreements for both Nkunku and Tel are the subject of the Bayern and Chelsea negotiations. There are no lending agreements. It would be challenging for Nkunku to move to Bayern if Tel rejects a move to Chelsea.

Nkunku is reportedly disgruntled because he wants more playing time, despite having 13 goals and four assists in 28 outings for Chelsea this season across all competitions. It’s interesting to consider where Nkunku would fit in at Bayern Munich.

According to Transfermarkt, Nkunku has appeared in 19 games this season as a striker, six as an attacking midfielder, two as a left winger, and one as a second striker. Nkunku has participated in 66 games as an offensive midfielder, 66 games as a central midfielder, 53 games as a second striker, 34 games as a left winger, 32 games as a striker, 17 games as a right winger, 9 games as a left midfielder, and one game as a right-back during his career.

What position would Nkunku occupy in the lineup of Bayern Munich? Leroy Sané, Serge Gnabry, and Kingsley Coman are all fighting for time at the left wing, most likely.
