Scarlett Johansson the Hollywood actress, has settle her lawsuit against Disney.
Johansson in July sued Diseney in Los Angles County Superior Court for releasing her Marvel film “Black Widow,” a Marvel film starring the actress, on streaming app, Disney+ on the same day it was released in theaters.
The actress alleged that the shift Violated her contract by potentially limiting ticket sales’ depriving her of maximum bonuses from theatrical revenue that reach as high as $30 million to $40 millions.
Disney responded in July by saying that “there is no merit whatsoever to this filing.” The studio added at the time that the company “fully complied with Ms. Johansson’s contract and furthermore, the release of ‘Black Widow’ on Disney+ with Premier Access has significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20 million she has received to date.”
Scarlett settles their dispute on Thursday, September 30.
In a statement on Thursday she said that she was “happy to have resolved our differences.”
She said “I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team,”.
“I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come”.
” i am very pleased that we have been able to come to mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson regarding ‘Black Widow’,” said Alan Bergman chairman of Disney Studios Content.
According to the studio “Black Widow” brought in $80 million at North American box office in its opening weekend. The film also made $60 million globally on Disney+ that weekend.
