The Federal High Court’s ruling confirming Martins Amaehwule as the legitimate Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly has been affirmed by the Court of Appeal, located in Abuja.
Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, who has been at differences with Governor Fubara, has won this ruling.
Recall that Amaehwule’s leadership was upheld by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court of Abuja, a decision that was contested by Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Additionally, Governor Fubara has been directed to resubmit the 2024 budget to the House of Assembly, which is chaired by Amaehwule.
He was also prohibited by the court from handling House of Assembly matters.
