A shopping plaza located at Illorin was recently gutted by fire
On Wednesday, a shopping plaza on llofa Road in the GRA area of Ilorin caught fire.
The Director if the State Fire Service, Mr Falade Olumuyiwa said to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the fire, which begun at about 1am, destroyed properties worth millions.
He stated that the fire was swiftly extinguished under an hour by fire service men.
He also said that about 6 out of 13 shops in the plaza were severely affected by the fire.
The Director pleaded with inhabitants to always switch off their electronical devices whenever they were absent from their homes.
Mr Azeez Bello, the owner of a saloon in the plaza, said he lost all his properties in the inferno.
He pleaded for aid from individuals and organisations to help him in restarting the business because it was his means of livelihood. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)
