Nigerian singer and rapper Ice Prince Zamani, who was incarcerated after being accused of abducting and assaulting a police officer, has been granted bail.
Recall that the singer was detained last Friday, Lagos police spokesman SP Benjamin Hundeyin revealed on his official Twitter account. He was accused of assaulting a police officer.
According to Hundeyin, the former member of Chocolate City was pulled over by the police for driving without license plates, and after consenting to go to the station, he allegedly abducted the officer.
Ice Prince was released from the Nigerian correctional center in Ikoyi, Lagos, according to his attorney, Folarin Dalmeida, on Thursday.
“His bail conditions have been met, and he was released yesterday (Thursday),” he said.
Magistrate T.F. Oyeniyi of Ajah Magistrate court 1 imposed the rapper’s bail terms at N500,000 with two sureties in the same amount.
Due to the unavailability of the prosecution witnesses, his trial was suspended on Wednesday.
