Singer Portable Is Wanted By Police For Assaulting Ogun Officials.

Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name “Portable,” was declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command on Monday for his role in a violent attack on government officers performing their legitimate duty.

Omolola Odutola, the spokeswoman for the state police command, provided media with this information in a statement on Monday.

While conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, on February 5, 2025, at approximately 1000 hours, three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—came across an elderly man at Odogwu Bar in the vicinity. Portable’s father was later identified as the individual, according to Odutola.

When they identified themselves and asked for the authorized building design, the father told them that his son was not available, she added.

But a little while later, Portable led a group of nine thugs in a vicious assault on the unarmed officials while brandishing a gun and other weapons.

Despite suffering many injuries, the law enforcement personnel were able to flee and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command, which then forwarded the matter to the State Criminal Investigation Department for additional action.

“Portable ran away from the scene and has since gone into hiding, but nine accomplices were arrested.”

She went on to say, “He purposefully disregarded several official invitations to attend the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, without explanation or legal counsel.

The Ogun State Police Command has a legitimate court order designating him wanted after his repeated evasion.

The public is urged to help the police by giving them any important information that could result in his quick arrest. Anyone caught harboring or assisting the criminal will be prosecuted.

“Please report to the closest police station or get in touch with the Ogun State Police Command via the police public relations department or official communication channels for any pertinent information.”

Nine of the well-known singer’s proteges were charged by the police two weeks ago at a Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, for allegedly attacking staff members of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development’s Ota Zonal Planning office.

Nurudeen Warris, age 21, Adetola Alashe, age 25, Samuel Adeleke, age 28, Oluwaseun Ayenuwa, age 19, Oluwapelumi Adeosun, age 20, Gospel Kanu, age 20, Precious Ohiegebo, age 19, Ifeoluwa Babatunde, age 27, and Fatimo Muhammad, age 26, were among those arraigned.

The defendants were charged with five counts, including assault and restriction, armed with weapons and cutlasses, conduct likely to cause breach of peace, and wanting to kill. The charges bordered on a felony.

However, they entered a not guilty plea to the allegations that were brought against them.
