Six Cars Were Damaged By A Gas Blast In Katsina—Police

Police say that a gas explosion at a gas station in Jibia Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State damaged six cars. On November 15, gas tanks being moved by a truck exploded, causing the accident.

In a statement made on Friday, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, a police spokesman, confirmed the explosion. He said that when officers at the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters heard the explosion, they rushed to help. The DPO led a group of police and military members to the scene.

When they got to the Tamal gas station on the road between Kagadama and Magamar Jibia, the truck full of gas tanks was on fire. The joint team moved quickly to stop more damage, putting out the fire and limiting the damage to property. Six cars were badly damaged, but luckily no one was killed.

Mr. Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, the state’s Commissioner of Police, has ordered a full investigation to find out what caused the blast. We will keep you posted as the investigation goes on.
