Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles has launched the Blue Blossom Account only for women in business to offer them a better and reliable access to finances for their businesses.
Shedding more light on the new product, The Head, Relationship Banking, Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC, Babatunde Akindele stated that it was initiated due to the way women are usually not looked at or favored when it comes to finances for businesses. So this is a platform where the blue blossom account holder opens an account with a minimum of N20,000 with a zero current account maintenance (CAM) fee, access to loan facilities at highly competitive rates.
According to Omolola Fashesin, Head Sustainability, Stanbic IBTC the blue bossom current account also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (“SDG”) 5, which is focused on gender equality and empowering all women.
