According to police, South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron was discovered dead in Seoul.
The 24-year-old was discovered by a friend at approximately 16:55 (07:55 GMT) on Sunday in her residence in the city’s Seongsu-dong neighborhood.
Officers reported that they were looking into the cause of death and had not discovered any evidence of foul play.
Kim was regarded as one of South Korea’s most promising young actors when she started her career as a child actor.
She was born in Seoul in 2000 and became well-known for her performance in the 2009 movie A Brand New Life, which took place at the Cannes Film Festival.
She later starred in The Man from Nowhere (2010), which was South Korea’s highest earning movie, and The Neighbour (2012), a thriller for which she won an award.
Other noteworthy parts include those in the television series Mirror of the Witch (2016) and the 2014 movie A Girl at My Door.
The actress was fined 20 million won (£11,000) in April 2023 for her drunk driving incident in 2022, which caused her to mostly withdraw from the public eye.
Kim most recently starred in the Korean drama Bloodhounds, which aired on Netflix in 2023. According to Variety, the driving incident resulted in the most of her role being cut out.
