David Abakpa, the media assistant for Dr. Aisha Achimugu, has insisted that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is not looking into his role as the principal and group managing director/chief executive officer of FELAK Concept Group.
In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, Abakpa maintained that despite social media comments, Dr. Achimugu OFR had no score to settle with the EFCC.
According to the media assistant, the EFCC is a respectable financial crime organization in Nigeria that would look into any significant issue on social media before looking into the people or organizations involved.
He dismissed the media’s assertion that Dr. Achimugu eluded EFCC arrest and challenged the sponsored media campaigners to produce proof of the Commission’s alleged inquiry or arrest warrant against his principal.
Part of the statement reads: “It is petty that certain clickbait-style mushroom media platforms are being exploited to spread lies about Dr. Aisha Achimugu, a worldwide star and patriotic Nigerian who is gaining and drawing a highly recognized reputation for Nigeria and Nigerians internationally.
When it comes to dealing with financial crimes, the EFCC is renowned for its professionalism. News reporters are not informed about arrests by the EFCC until the investigation is finished.
Therefore, it seems odd that anonymous EFCC officials wearing masks purportedly told an internet media outlet about their intention to detain a law-abiding Nigerian.
“Allow the media outlet to release the alleged arrest warrant or invitation letter against Dr. Achimugu as stated. Anybody on the EFCC watchlist cannot just fly out of the nation without being apprehended by security personnel at the airport, in the first place.
“The goal has already been defeated and the media campaign is meaningless.” Just as truth cannot triumph over falsehood, darkness cannot understand light. As a result, the fake news’s sponsors are ill-prepared to damage the renowned entrepreneur’s reputation.
“OFR, a national honor bestowed upon Dr. Aisha Achimugu by the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is not a toy. Through her legitimate enterprises, she has contributed to the economy in a number of ways, which is why she was recognized.
“Dr. Aisha Achimugu is a dedicated entrepreneur who frequently travels the world on business flights. Therefore, it is absurd to claim that she left the country in order to avoid being arrested.
