Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, started his African tour yesterday, visiting Nigeria, Namibia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and Chad.
Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed at the FOCAC to elevate China-Africa relations to an all-weather community with a shared future for the new era and to upgrade bilateral relations between China and African nations with diplomatic connections to strategic partnerships.
The statement stated that China has a long history of enhancing Sino-African cooperation, and that Wang Yi’s visit is at their invitation.
