Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, a social media reviewer, was charged with impersonation on Friday and was given bail in the amount of N2 million with two sureties in the same amount.
VeryDarkMan was also told by the court to give up all of his foreign passports and other forms of ID.
The police charged VDM, as he is often called, with impersonating.
This came after the use of police uniforms, which was seen in a video clip that went viral.
Remember that the Police spoke out against VDM’s use of official uniforms and gear without permission in a video that he shared on his social media accounts last Thursday.
An official from the Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement that they were looking into the tape that was going around.
The bail terms that VDM’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, sent are: “Two million and two sureties in the same way.” People who promise to keep foreign passports safe and show proof of identity. Sureties must sign an affidavit and give it to the defendant at all times during the hearing.
“The prosecutor will check the address of the sureties. Sureties must show electricity bills, and the defendant must sign an affidavit saying that he or she will be available at all times during the trial. Sureties must live in the court’s area of control, preferably in Abuja municipal.
