The Establishment Of Access Bank’s Namibian Subsidiary Is Approved.

The Bank of Namibia has granted Access Holdings Plc’s main subsidiary, Access Bank Plc, a temporary license to open a commercial bank in Namibia.

Roosevelt Ogbonna, the managing director and chief executive officer of Access Bank Plc, expressed excitement about the development in a notification he filed with the Nigeria Exchange Limited on Monday.

In order to develop a railroad in Namibia for intra-African trade among Southern Africa, Africa, and the rest of the globe, this expansion is a significant step forward. It strengthens our resolve to develop a strong banking network throughout Southern Africa in order to promote financial inclusion, create shared prosperity, and enable many people to realize their aspirations.

Our foray into the Namibian market is a critical milestone in our larger goal of developing a powerful worldwide brand, and it will open up new doors for both individuals and companies. We are excited to collaborate with regional partners to foster creativity, strengthen communities, and make a significant impact on the region’s development,” stated Ogbonna.

According to him, the bank’s activities in Namibia are anticipated to boost the national economy and solidify its standing as a major actor in the area.

With operations already in place in Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zambia, among other countries in Southern Africa, he continued, the bank sought to provide stakeholders with easy access to a variety of prospects for regional expansion and cooperation.
