The mother of veteran singer Innocent, better known by his stage name 2face, Rose Idibia, has called on Nigerians to assist her in pleading with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawuru to abandon her son.
In a video that went viral Thursday night, she made the plea.
Mrs. Idibia claims that because of the divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, Annie, 2face is currently not in his best mental state.
“Good evening, citizens of Nigeria. 2face’s mother, Mrs. Rose Idibia, is my name. This is a message for Edo State’s Miss Natasha Osawaru. I’m pleading with all Nigerian mothers to assist me in begging her to release my son.
“My son is going through a divorce process, and it’s obvious that he’s lost his mind at this point. I am familiar with my son. He’s not like that.
“Please Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him,” she said.
Newsline reports a viral video that captured the moment 2face proposed to Osawaru.
To the awe of some of their pals, the musician and the politician were seen dancing together in the video.
2face later proceeded to give Osawaru with a ring, after which they were locked in a deep embrace.
This comes just a day after the musician publicly announced his romantic relationship with Osawaru, making social media abuzz.
The singer stated that he intended to pursue a relationship with Osawaru after recently splitting from his wife, Annie Idibia.
Speculations about their relationship had been building after 2face was seen at the Edo State Assembly and a video leaked showing the two together at a Lagos club.
Addressing the rumours, the African Queen crooner turned to Instagram on Tuesday to set the record straight.
In the video, he says in part, “Allegedly, I have seen so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I did post what I did post.
Honorable Natasha has been dragged, referred to by a variety of derogatory terms, and labeled a homebreaker.
“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage. I do love her. She is cool and incredible. I’d like to wed her.
As a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Osawaru represents the Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly.
She hails from Edo State’s Egor Local Government Area and was elected in April 2023.
