The Presidency Of Peter Obi, A Nigerian Counterpart Of Donald Trump

According to the Presidency, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, is the Nigerian counterpart of Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the US presidency in 2024.

Temitope Ajayi, President Bola Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on networking and Publicity, made the analogy on Wednesday in a post on the social networking site X.

This comes after Trump and Democratic nominee for president of the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris, debated.

“Peter Obi is the Donald Trump of Nigeria.” He stated, “Just like Obi, Trump will rile up his base and make a point by using the worst derogatory terms imaginable to describe a country he wants to lead again.”

In an intensely contested race, both Trump and Harris engaged in a heated debate covering a wide range of topics, from immigration to abortion rights.

Additionally, Ajayi stated, “Last night, during their first in-person debate, Kamala Harris effectively defended Trump. Kamala won the argument handily and dispelled any doubts about his abilities.

Vice President Harris devised traps for Trump since he was aware of his weakness. Trump succumbed to her deceit. The assertions made by each candidate throughout the debate have been verified. In the same 90-minute discussion, Trump made 33 false assertions whereas Harris was only said to have made one.

According to media accounts, Trump frequently responded to Harris’s provocative remarks by reiterating conspiracy theories and making up claims about immigration and the 2020 election.

The former president maintained his outrageous remarks, such as the notion that immigrants were eating American citizens’ pets, even after debate moderators fact-checked them.

In Springfield, they’re consuming not just the people who visit there but also the dogs, cats, and other household pets. And this is what’s happening in our nation,” Trump declared, displacing the Springfield city manager who maintained that there was no solid evidence to support such claims.

Tuesday, November 5, 2024 is the scheduled date of the US elections in 2024.
