It has been reported that the cap of the former Governor of Ekiti state was removed at the Peoples Democratic Party Mega Rally in Ondo town yesterday. The rally was in preparation for the gubernatorial election this Saturday.
Osokomole as the Former Governor Of Ekiti State is fondly called is in longerhead with the executive Governor Of Oyo State Engineer Seyi Makinde and Chief Bode George, a highly honoured PDP stateman over the leadership of the party in Ekiti State. The thugs that perpetrated this act are alleged to be the faithfuls of Engineer Seyi Mankinde.
The tuzzle for the leadership Of the Peoples Democratic Party in the southwest and Ekiti state ensued according to report because Ayodele Fayose was alleged of wanting to be the leader of the PDP in the southwest region and Ekiti State Inclusive. Makinde and Senator Abiuodun Olujimi are not happy with this development because it is presumed that Senator Abiodun Olujimi, a sitting senator in the senate should be the anchor of the party in the state.
Fayose on the other hand reacst through his media aide Lere Olayinka that he wont stop saying the truth on the smooth running and acticvities of the party. Osokomole vowed never to take the incidence with levity as it will be duely reported to security agencies. ”That’s how late Chief Bola Ige’s cap was removed in Ile Ife, Osun State then and we all know what happened later,” Fayose said.
He said ‘’ As for me, I am unperturbed and I must say it clearly that those new comers to the PDP and their old allies, who won’t mind soiling the image of the party to achieve their aims will not be allowed to succeed,” he said.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) also had their rally in Akure at the same time the PDP rally was going on in Ondo town. Rotimi Akeredolu is the the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress in Ondo State contesting against Eyitayo Jegede Of the Peoples Democratic Party.
