The former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has stated that President Bola Tinubu has done well for the country given the prevailing circumstances he met when he assumed office in May 2023.
On Sunday, March 10, speaking when he received the comptroller-general and members of the management team of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) in Daura, Katsina State, Buhari said governing Nigeria is a tough job for anyone.
He appealed to Nigerians to endure the economic hardship in the country and support the policies and programs of the current administration.
Buhari said, “I thank you very much for coming. I very much appreciate it. I thought Tinubu had done very well. Nigeria is so complex. Really, there isn’t much anybody can do.”
President Tinubu has been heavily criticized by some Nigerians following the policies his government has introduced, notably the removal of subsidies on gasoline and the unification of the exchange rate, which have led to galloping inflation and economic hardship.
