President Bola Tinubu has stated that his administration is dedicated to defeating the nation’s insecurity.
This was said by Tinubu on Monday during the Regimental Dinner Night held in Abuja in honor of Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day.
The president reaffirmed his willingness to provide the military with the tools it needs to eradicate any security threats throughout the nation, as represented by Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
This was revealed in a statement sent to Deputy Speaker Levinus Nwabughiogu on Monday and signed by the Chief Press Secretary.
Tinubu praised the military forces’ professionalism and tenacity in the war against insurgency, saying that those who gave their lives to protect the country would always be remembered.
The president also promised to put military personnel’s welfare and well-being first, making sure they have the tools and assistance they need to successfully fulfill their constitutional obligations.
As the Special Guest of Honor for this outstanding event, the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day dinner and Award Night for Officers, I stand before you tonight with the utmost honor and gratitude,” he remarked.
This event highlights the innumerable sacrifices made by our men and women who have served as well as our common commitment to the safety and unity of our wonderful country. The Armed Forces of Nigeria are more than just a military organization; they are the backbone of national security and the embodiment of our beloved country’s unity, peace, and optimism.
“All Nigerians should take pride in and be inspired by the commitment and professionalism shown by our service members. Therefore, although we celebrate tonight, let’s also consider the future.
According to Tinubu, “the challenges we face require not only courage and strength but also innovation and adaptability. We must continue to invest in our military’s capabilities, providing them with the tools and support they need to effectively address the changing security challenges that confront us on a daily basis.”
“We can conquer any obstacle if we work together, even though the path ahead won’t always be simple. I want to reassure you that the welfare and well-being of our military troops will remain our top priority. We will make sure they have the tools and assistance they need to do their jobs well.
Tinubu also encouraged the meritorious officers who received various accolades from Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defense Staff, to continue being steadfast and resilient.
“To the award honorees who are being recognized tonight for their outstanding dedication and devotion, you are a bright example of what it means to serve this nation with distinction and without reservation.
“Your efforts not only help to keep our country safe, but they also inspire others in the military and beyond. You are our military’s lifeblood. We are very happy to celebrate you tonight,” he remarked.
The president urged Nigerians to fortify the ties of friendship and respect for one another “that bind us all.” I hope we keep helping each other.
