Two Nigerian students were charged for illegal drugs in Cyprus

Two Nigerian students were charge for illegal drugs in Cyprus, the two were identified as Onuwa Kachıkwu and Uduak Emmanuel, were both  arrested on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

A total of 17 grams of wrapped drugs have been retrieved from the two Nigerian students in cyprus. one of the two Nigerian students –  Uduak Emmanuel;  female ,was busted for selling drugs to undercover cops. She was reported to have sold drugs to the Department of Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling in Cyprus.

Equally important, the duo have been arraigned in a Cyprus court. They were both charged with receiving, selling and storing illicit drugs when they appeared before Judge Hazal Hacımulla; of the Nicosia Accident Court on Thursday.

They may face high punishment if found guilty at the end of the trial, Murat Özkırdar, the police officer who busted the two Nigerian students; also discovered $3750, €400, £50, and 1100 TL in a shoe box in their room. Specifically, the money is believed to be proceeds of illicit drugs sales. Subsequently, the judge ordered the suspects to be remanded in detention for five days; so as to ensure non-interference with the criminal investigation against them.
