In its report, the investigation panel that was tasked with looking into reports that Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, a convicted crossdresser, was kept out of the detention center during his six-month prison sentence has dismissed the charges.
However, the panel acknowledged that Bobrisky was granted certain advantages while incarcerated.
Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA) founder and Executive Director Uju Agomoh, who is on the panel, said there was no proof that Bobrisky stayed outside the prison during his sentence, which ran from April 12, 2024, to August 5, 2024.
“There is currently no evidence that the panel found that Mr. Okuneye slept outside the custodial center while he was incarcerated,” Agomoh stated.
She explained that Bobrisky received the customary remission that applies in certain situations while serving his six-month jail sentence.
