The United States of America has organized training for the Nigerian Air Force commanders in military operations.
According to reports, the training is set to equip military commanders with operational decision-making and civilian protection. The training was included as part of the package for the operations of the Super Tucano jets that were sold to Nigeria by the US.
A statement released yesterday read;
“From September 13 through September 17, the U.S. Defence Institute of International Legal Studies travelled to Nigeria to conduct a senior leaders’ seminar.
“This training course was designed to introduce Nigerian Air Force commanders to advanced topics in operational decision making, including a focus on improving civilian harm mitigation efforts in future military operations,”
“This course was included as a part of the A-29 Super Tucano sale as part of the Defence Security Cooperation Agency’s ‘total package approach’ that includes not just hardware but spare parts, logistics, and training.”
