California Governor Gavin Newsom stated that thousands of firefighters are presently combating several wildfires in Los Angeles County.
He posted on X late Wednesday, saying, “More than 7,500 firefighting personnel are on the ground working with local and federal partners to respond to California’s ongoing historic wildfires.” “If you’re close to affected areas, pay attention to local authorities and be prepared to evacuate.”
According to Newsom, the deployment consists of 53 bulldozers, 31 helicopters, and over 1,100 fire engines.
Mayor Karen Bass also posted on X, “Firefighters will be working through the night battling blazes in Los Angeles for the second night in a row.” “We thank you on behalf of a grateful City.”
According to Cal Fire, the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire, the two biggest flames in the area, are still 0% contained as of early Thursday.
