A young Nigerian shoemaker, Omale Ojima, popularly known as “OJ Best,” has died.
It would be recalled that Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, had invited the entrepreneur to Aso Rock presidential villa and purchased shoes from him.
Before then, OJBest had requested via a tweet to present a gift of his own made footwear to the VP.
It was gathered that the professional shoemaker went to bed on Saturday, February 26, and didn’t wake again.
He was rushed to Kubwa General hospital Abuja where he was rumored to have died.
However, as friends took to social media to mourn him, his sister Comr Sofred Paul, who was at the hospital at the time, announced that he was unconscious.
“Please pray for my brother Omale Ojbest, still breathing.” she wrote on Facebook.
On Sunday night, she confirmed his death in an update.
“Now I can post your pictures, he just entered mortuary now. We did our best, we paid the last respect. May God accepts your precious soul dear brother Omale Ojbest,” she wrote.
“For the first time in my entire life that I stood by a corpse-like, I was holding him and praying nonstop without any fear? The reality of life. Seeing him you will think Oj was sleeping. Kai.”
Meanwhile, hours before the news about his death began to make the rounds online, the deceased had expressed his frustration while watching the United match.
“We should stop being delusional,. Ronaldo is finished,” he wrote.
“Make I go play snooker forget this match jor,” he added.
