The J5 bus carrying more than 35 Muslims to Samunaka, in the Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, to celebrate Maulud, collided head-on with an articulated vehicle near Samunaka, resulting in their deaths in a horrific motor vehicle accident.
One of the organizers of the Maulud celebration, Malam Abdullahi, told media in an interview yesterday that the accident had disorganized their preparations to celebrate the Maulud, despite the fact that the authorities had not yet responded to the tragedy.
According to him, 35 further casualties had been transferred to a nearby medical institution in Plateau State to receive treatment.
According to him, a motorbike and another car in their group collided, killing several of the passengers and seriously injuring others.
