COVID-19: 2 NEW CASES IN NEW ZEALAND.

Covid-19: Two new cases have been discovered in New zealand, which is said to have come from the UK in the past 24hrs.

These were two women from the same family, coming to New Zealand with special Permission to visit a dying parent.

Last week the country announced that it was free from the virus.

The Health Minister David Clark said ”the necessary checks had not taken place and he was suspending compassionate exemptions to the quarantine rules”

The newest cases bring New Zealand’s total number of cases since the outbreak of coronavirus began to 1,506. The death toll remains unchanged at 22.

Mr Clark Announces that he was suspending exemptions to the quarantine rules, he said: “Compassionate exemptions should be rare and rigorous and it appears that this case did not include the checks that we expected to be happening. That’s not acceptable.”
