Femi Gbajabiamila, a former House Speaker, has formally left the chamber in order to serve as the president’s chief of staff. On June 14, he sent Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, his letter of resignation.
In order to allow the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold a new election to fill his position in the house, Gbajabiamila, who formerly represented Surulere 1 constituency, offered his resignation.
